Former Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam stated in an interview with the Saudi newspaper “Kadaz” that “Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad’s speech was written in an Iranian-Russian format.” He emphasized that “the speech lacks political substance and instead contributes to further escalation.”

Khaddam highlighted that “Assad is incapable of crafting political speeches. He lacks the ability to formulate a coherent political message.” He added, “The Iranians and Russians have encouraged the regime to intensify military operations in recent times, and this political speech is part of their strategy for escalation.”

“Assad is exploiting the international community’s disregard for the atrocities he is committing against the Syrian people. He is deliberately working to create a climate of tension and intimidation in the region to suppress the revolution,” Khaddam stated. He firmly stated that the Syrian people will not back down from their demands for freedom and their pursuit of a modern state.
