Khaddam met with Cypriot President Spiros Kiprianou. During the meeting they discussed bilateral relations and agreed on the further strengthening of these relations.
The Cypriot president met this afternoon with Syrian Vice President ‘Abd al-Halim Khaddam, who is an official visit in our country. After the meeting, Khaddam expressed his satisfaction over the briefing President Kiprianou gave on the latest Cyprus developments. The Cypriot president expressed his appreciation for Sypria’s continued support for the efforts to develop a united and independent Cyprus. Kiprianou also repeated the invitation he has extended to Syrian President Hafiz al-Asad to visit Cyprus and also invited Khaddam to visit Cyprus.
