A Hungarian delegation, led by Mr. Lajos Fehér, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Hungarian government, is scheduled to arrive in Damascus tomorrow. The delegation aims to hold talks with Syrian officials focusing on developing economic and technical cooperation between the two friendly countries. It is worth mentioning that this marks the second round of talks between Syria and Hungary at the level of Deputy Prime Ministers. The first round took place during the visit of Mr. Eid al-Halim Khaddam, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs for Hungary, last July.

It is noteworthy that previous discussions, conducted during the visit of the Hungarian Friendship Delegation to Syria earlier this year, led by Mr. Ferenc, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, resulted in positive outcomes in terms of economic, technical, and foreign trade cooperation between the two countries. The possibility of collaboration in the agricultural sector was also explored during the visit of the Syrian economic delegation to Hungary in September, led by Mr. Mohammed Habbar, the Minister of Agriculture and Agricultural Reform.

Khaddam commented that the upcoming visit of Mr. Lajos Fehér, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Hungarian government, and the accompanying delegation to Syria tomorrow will provide a greater opportunity to study the potential for expanding the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. This is expected to strengthen Syrian-Hungarian relations in various fields.
