A symposium was held on the book The Contemporary Arab System by the Syrian Vice President, Mr. Abdel Halim Khaddam, where MP Bishara Merhej, preacher Dr. Fathi Yakan, and Dr. Hassan Hallaq participated in the symposium.

Dr. Yakan began reading it from the title of the book, which is worth stopping at, as it ventures into dangerous horizons at times, crossing red lines that it is rare for a statesman to cross.

Then he talked about giving gifts to his wife, which is considered a language of fulfillment of the equal role of women and the role of men in building life

As for the introduction, it identifies the originality of the writer’s affiliation to the “Ummah of Tawhid,” and Arab unity is almost never absent from Mr, Khaddam’s mind and life, as it constitutes for him a great ambition and a strategic priority in bringing the nation to all the dignity and freedom it hopes for.
Under the title of national awareness, Mr, Khaddam laments that some nationalist formations do not understand the role of religion in the lives of peoples, and he rejects secularism that calls for the separation of religion from the state. Under the title of the current Arab system, Mr, Khaddam reveals very serious matters related to the emergence of this system and its backgrounds, and talks about the state of schizophrenia that The Arab regime lives by the Charter of the Arab League

Under the title of the Soviet Union and the Arabs, Mr, Khaddam talks about the Arab-Israeli conflict in general. Particularly affected by the setback of 1967, when Israel was victorious on three fronts
Then he stops before a dangerous topic, which is the Zionist project, which represents the greatest and most dangerous challenge to Arabs and Muslims, and even to the entire world. Focusing on the Zionist-Crusader collusion against the Islamic Caliphate, the Sykes-Picot Agreement, and the invasion of the Islamic world.
Mr, Khaddam concludes his book with a word that he addresses to the generations of the nation with pride, saying: The hegemony of a state or brutal aggression should not frighten us or our rising generations, because it is destined to fall and defeat, and reading the facts of history makes us realize how great is the will of the peoples to persevere and confront aggression.

Dr. Yakan concludes by saying: This is a small part of much of what is stored in the book The Contemporary Arab System, and the facts it contains. Many of those in power and the position of the official decision are unable or afraid to address it with such boldness, honesty and objectivity. Addressing Mr. Khaddam, a thousand greetings and peace.
