Informed sources announced that former Syrian Vice President and leader of the National Salvation Front, Abdul Halim Khaddam, will launch the “New Syria” TV channel, which has completed all technical arrangements to launch its broadcast, and will begin its work permanently next Thursday. Khaddam's son, Jihad Abdel Halim, confirmed that the "New Syria" satellite television channel, which was expected to start its programs live on Friday, was delayed for purely technical reasons related to receiving the satellite broadcast signal from the satellite.
Khaddam explained that the necessary preparations have been fully made to present a new Syrian media effort through a group of purposeful political, intellectual, and cultural programs. He said: “The New Syria Channel will be a public channel that includes documentary programs, political dialogues, Syrian and Arab series, children’s programs, and two daily news bulletins.”
Khaddam revealed that a daily television program deals in detail with the developments of the Syrian political, cultural, economic and social arena through a group of topics and specialized guests. He said: “We have prepared a group of direct political, economic and intellectual programs, one of which we called “The Round Table” and deals with the details of political and economic life. daily newspaper in Syria, and the other we called “And They Were Like Us” and it presents the experiences of people who were able to escape from dictatorial regimes, and other programs concerned with the rest of the Syrian aspects,” as he put it.
