Minister of Tourism, Mr. Walid Jumblat, has characterized the situation in Lebanon as perilous. He expressed his confidence that Syria will exert efforts to halt the internal conflicts among the national forces.
Yesterday, Minister Jumblat paid a 24-hour visit to Damascus where he engaged in discussions with Syrian Vice President Mr. Abdul Halim Khaddam regarding the critical situation in Lebanon, as stated by Jumblat in an interview with AFP. Jumblat arrived in Damascus on Tuesday from Libya and affirmed his belief that Syria would diligently work towards ending the clashes within the national forces.
