Dear friends in beloved Syria
On this blessed day, I turn to you to congratulate you on a happy Eid al-Fitr, and homesickness shakes me deep down, asking God to bring it back to our people and the Arab and Islamic worlds with all goodness and reassurance.
For many years, gloom has characterized the country under a regime that violated taboos, suppressed freedoms, violated dignity, spread immorality and corruption, sowed fear, and produced painful suffering for our people.
Syria's greatest misfortune is that its tyrannical individual ruler cannot distinguish between truth and falsehood, between justice and injustice, between what is permissible and what is forbidden, and between honesty and lies. He underestimates the people and authorizes the security services to protect his tyranny and corruption.
Ask yourselves, brothers, after six years of taking control of the country’s administration, what did Bashar al-Assad do other than spreading corruption, increasing suffering, and making wrong decisions that led to the weakening of national unity, placing Syria in a state of Arab and international isolation, and weakening its capabilities in liberating the Golan and in supporting the brotherly Palestinian people?
I address you today with this message to reassure you that the corrupt and tyrannical regime is on the brink of collapse, and soon the ruler will see the opportunists and hypocrites who have gathered around him turning away from him, and he and the family of corruption and its entourage will remain alone in the grip of justice.
O sons of my beloved country
The change will not come by replacing one ruler with another ruler, but rather by replacing an individual, tyrannical regime with a democratic regime in which a civil state, a state of law and institutions, is established and the people are the source and master of power.
The change will be qualitative, restoring its strength, vitality and status to Syria
The democratic system that will be formed by your choice must address the following basic issues in an interconnected and simultaneous manner
- Political reform, which must unleash public and individual freedoms and guarantee basic and equal rights without discrimination for all citizens. It should also release freedom of political action, party formation, and freedom of the media, as well as establishing a new election law that enables the people to freely choose their constitutional institutions.
- Economic reform, which must address the economic issue from its roots according to a program that has been prepared, leads to launching economic development, removing all obstacles to it, encouraging investment, liberating the national economy from the restrictions that caused its crises, raising the standard of living for citizens, achieving a balance between wages and prices, launching individual and collective initiatives, and creating opportunities. Work: In light of these reforms, the state becomes responsible for achieving economic and social balance
- Reforming state agencies and its judicial and administrative institutions, eradicating the causes of corruption, achieving the principle of equal opportunities by selecting workers in government agencies and institutions, establishing a system of oversight and accountability, focusing on developing professional competence, and approving the principle of incentives.
- Introducing radical reforms in the education sector and its various stages in order to prepare competent generations capable of advancing in the country, achieving its progress and progress, and characterized by the ability to create and give.
- Giving the youth of Syria special attention to understand the hope and future in the country’s rise and progress and in restoring its role in the Arab and international arenas.
Dear fellow citizens
On this blessed day, I invite you to prepare for a day soon in which you will participate in ridding the country of injustice, oppression, corruption, and tyranny, and regain your right to freely choose your constitutional institutions and to lead, monitor, and hold the country accountable under a democratic state in which you are the authority.
May God’s peace be upon you, dear sons of Syria, and see you soon in proud Damascus, God Almighty willing
