Syrian Vice President Abdul Halim Khaddam stated that he is in good condition and will leave the hospital for Damascus later today accompanied by his wife. She mentioned that they would visit the former Prime Minister of Lebanon, Omar Karami, before their departure to express gratitude. Vice President Khaddam, in a phone call with the Lebanese National News Agency this morning, thanked Lebanon, its president, parliament, government, and people for the care and kindness extended to him during his health setback.
It’s worth noting that Khaddam was admitted to the hospital in Tripoli, northern Lebanon, yesterday after experiencing a health issue while delivering a speech on behalf of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad at the ceremony commemorating the fourteenth anniversary of the assassination of President Rashid Karami.
