Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the significance of Moscow’s enduring and robust relations with Syria in the context of the ongoing conflicts afflicting the Middle East.

Putin’s remarks were made during his meeting with Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam in Moscow. The Russian President highlighted the importance of the Russian-Syrian relationship, particularly due to the complex situation in the Middle East resulting from the crises in Iraq and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Furthermore, President Putin emphasized the crucial role of military-technical cooperation as a key component of the bilateral relations between Russia and Syria.

Syrian Vice President Khaddam arrived in Moscow yesterday for discussions expected to focus on the Iraqi crisis, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as well as counterterrorism efforts.
