Senator W. Fulbright is on a visit to Syria. He met the Syrian Minister for Foreign Affairs at the headquarters of the Syrian Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The talks concentrated on the question of peace in the Middle East. Arab people want peace, just lasting peace, on condition of complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from occupied Arab teritories and restoration of the legitimate rights of the Arab Palestinian people. Both Mr. Thorne, of the American Embassy in Damascus, and Mr. Kern, a journalist accompanying Senator Fulbright on his tour, were present it the meeting.
