The Syrian Foreign Minister, Mr Abdel Halim Khaddam, arrived in Amman, Jordan, on Saturday for talks with the Government on the future of Sinai.
The Syrian Minister is carrying letters from the President, Hafez Al-Assad to the leaders of the Arab nations. His tour follows the visit of the American Secretary of State, Dr Henry Kissinger to Arab nation to find a settlement.
Its thought that President Assad is anxious that there be no separate peace settlement in the Sinai which would leave Syria militarily and politically isolated.
Mr Khaddam told newsmen on his arrival in Amman that he would have talks with King Hussein and the Prime Minister, Mr Zaid Al-Rifai. The current middle east situation would form the basis of these discussion.
