A handwritten diary written on June 30, 1974, including what is stated in it
At the conclusion of the session, the President explained the summary of his talks with Khaddam, which he described as frank and friendly, and took hours, including his meeting with His Majesty the King, and they agreed on the following:
1. Rejecting any unilateral solution undertaken by any Arab country
2. Supporting the separation of forces on the Jordanian front, and Khaddam criticized Egypt’s position because it violates the principle that any liberated inch is in the interest of the Arabs.
3. Jordan agrees that if there is no separation of forces, Jordan will not go to Geneva, and Syria will not go
4. The necessity of coordination between Arab countries and going to Geneva with a unified position
5. In the event that the Geneva Conference fails, or obstacles arise that prevent the Arabs from going to it, Syria, Egypt, and Jordan must present to the Arabs an alternative proposal.
6. Coordination is taking place between Jordan, Syria, and Egypt, followed by coordination between Jordan, Syria, Egypt, and the PLO
7. The president told Khaddam that the problem lies in the following
a. What are the rights of the Palestinian people?
B. Who are the Palestinian people? Are they the Palestinians of Lebanon who are affected by the issue of return or compensation? Or the Palestinians of the West or East Bank? (Khaddam agreed that this was a problem)
C. Do Arabs agree to confuse Israel's withdrawal from the West Bank with the liquidation of the Palestinian cause, as is clear from statements, press and media?
The President said in his speech that the organizations do not know what the rights of the Palestinian people are. They say that there is a fighting national authority. Khaddam added: nonsense (as a form of sarcasm). What is the national authority?
Khaddam said, confirming what the president said, that the organizations do not know rights, and that President al-Assad met with the new executive committee recently, for six hours, inquiring about rights, but he did not receive an answer from them, and they told him that they were working on that, and that in the next interview they would present him with a specific definition. .
8. (Jordan and Syria agreed to go to Geneva as an Arab delegation, meaning that the confrontation countries go to Geneva as one delegation)
