The country’s Amir received yesterday Mr. Abdul Halim Khaddam, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria, and received from him a letter from the Syrian President Hafez al-Assad regarding the current Arab and international situations. Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, later received Mr. Abdul Halim Khaddam and discussed the general Arab situations, as well as consulted on some specific issues arising from these situations.
Mr. Khaddam left Kuwait’s airport yesterday afternoon, returning to Damascus, after a short 24-hour visit during which he held consultations with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Information, Sabah Al-Ahmad, regarding Arab situations and the Geneva conference. The Syrian Minister was bid farewell by the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Hamad Mubarak Al-Ayyar, the Syrian Ambassador to Kuwait, and the Deputy Director of the Ceremonies Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
