Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam has emphasized the need for the Arab system, established under the umbrella of the Arab League in 1954, to be reviewed in order to remove the imbalances and obstacles that hinder joint Arab action. This is necessary to achieve progress and to confront external threats and foreign domination that pose a danger to Arab countries.
Khaddam’s comments were made during his visit to Sanaa, where he delivered a message from Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad to Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The message addressed the latest developments and the current situation in the region, as well as the bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to the Yemeni News Agency, Khaddam’s visit to Yemen is part of a tour that includes several Arab capitals. The tour aims to consult and exchange opinions on the current situation in the region and to find ways to overcome the difficult circumstances faced by the Arab nation.
