EU delegation to visit syria

Mr Claude CHEYSSON, Member of the Commission with special responsibility for Mediterranean policy, will pay an official visit to Syria from 2 to 4 June. He is due to have talks with the Syrian Vice-President, Mr Abdul Halim Khaddam, the Prime Minister, Dr Abdul Raoul Al-Kasm, the Foreign Minister, Mr Farouk Al Shara and the Planning Minister, Dr Sabah Bakjaji. The talks will cover principally the situation as regards the Mediterranean policy of the enlarged Community and the political situation in the region.
