Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam has embarked on a visit to the Sultanate of Oman, where he will engage in discussions about the regional and Iraqi situations.

According to a Syrian presidential statement, Khaddam is carrying a message from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman. During his visit, Khaddam will hold talks with Sultan Qaboos and high-ranking officials on various topics, including the situation in Iraq, recent developments, the Palestinian territories, the overall regional situation, methods to enhance collective Arab efforts, bilateral relations, and avenues for their further development in various fields.

Khaddam’s visit is part of an ongoing Arab tour that commenced with his recent visit to Yemen, during which he delivered a message from President Assad to Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh
