Syria and the Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party have once again expressed their opposition to all threats against Iraq and any potential military action directed at the country.

This stance was reaffirmed during a meeting between Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam and the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, along with their respective delegations.

A Syrian official source indicated that the discussions primarily revolved around the threats targeting Iraq. Both sides agreed on the urgent need to lift the siege imposed on the Iraqi people, alleviate their suffering, and firmly reject any military intervention against them. Additionally, the conversation addressed the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and its far-reaching implications for the situation in the Middle East.

Barzani emphasized these concerns, particularly as the threats of a US/British strike on Iraq continue to escalate.
