Former Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam has declared his support for a military strike on his country to overthrow Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
Khaddam urged Arab and foreign countries sympathetic to the Syrian people to “use military force to overthrow the regime and enable the Syrian people to achieve their aspirations and determine their destiny.”
He clarified that “any punitive strike that does not overthrow the regime will increase the suffering of the Syrian people because Iran and Russia will continue to support it with all means of support.” He added, “When peoples face serious threats, whether internal or external, they unite their ranks and energies to confront the dangers that threaten the homeland, the unity of their people, and their territory.”
