Syrian Vice President Abdul Halim Khaddam held a second meeting with Lebanese Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri to discuss the latest developments regarding southern Lebanon and the recent Israeli aggression on Lebanon, especially in light of Israel’s evasion of participating in the scheduled meeting of the April Understanding Committee, which was set to address Lebanon’s complaint against Israel.
Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa had also met with Berri, where they discussed the same situation. They emphasized the need to uphold the “April Understanding” and inform the international parties involved in the agreement of the necessity to adhere to it, as it is the only agreement that binds all the parties who endorsed it.
Afterwards, Khaddam met with former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, who is traveling to Paris today, and their discussions centered around Lebanese developments.
