Former Syrian Vice President Abdul Haleem Khaddam warned in a television interview yesterday of Syria falling into the hands of Iran and Hezbollah. He stated that Iran aims to turn Syria into its colony, leveraging all its material and military capabilities, deploying its military experts in service of Bashar al-Assad. Additionally, Hezbollah forces have been actively participating in the fighting alongside Assad’s forces and loyalists for a long time.

Khaddam added that the massacres happening in the Syrian coast are intended for the displacement of minorities, including the Sunni population, as a prelude to establishing a sectarian state.

These massacres currently taking place are among the most dangerous since the start of the Syrian revolution because they are not committed by the army but by the regime’s loyalists belonging to the Alawite sect.

Bashar al-Assad aims to transform the conflict into a sectarian one and pave the way for establishing a state on the Syrian coast without realizing that the Syrian people will bury him in such a state.
