The Vice President of Syria, Abdel Halim Khaddam, is set to make an official visit to Turkey in the coming November.
Informed diplomatic sources in Ankara explained that preparations are currently underway for the details of this visit, which marks the first of its kind at this level in many years.
The sources pointed out that the visit by the Syrian Vice President is an additional and significant step in the continuous improvement and strengthening of Syrian-Turkish relations since the signing of the Adana Agreement between the two countries in October 1998.
The same sources expected that the visit would lead to significant positive developments contributing to enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
This visit comes shortly after the important official visit by Syrian Interior Minister Mohammed Harba to Turkey last month, during which agreements were reached, among other things, and a more comprehensive cooperation agreement is expected to be signed soon, particularly in the areas of various security cooperation, including combating terrorist activities.
