Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah meets Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam

The Chairman of the Arab Committee, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, and the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Shazly Al-Qalibi, resumed their activities in Damascus yesterday morning. They held a meeting with Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam in his office, in the presence of the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Damascus, Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Jassim, and the Director of the Arab National Office at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Abdul Hamid Al-Baijan. The meeting, which lasted from 9 am to 11 am Damascus time, involved discussions on the latest developments related to Lebanon and the ongoing efforts of the Arab Committee to achieve a permanent ceasefire.

Following the meeting, Sheikh Sabah stated, “The discussion with Mr. Khaddam was productive and focused on the current situation in Lebanon. We believe that the role we will play will be beneficial. We hope to conclude our tour with the National Front, and overall, the situation in Lebanon will improve.”
