Syrian, Libyan and Iranian officials met in Damascus, Syria today for what was called ‘policy coordination talks,’ state-run Damascus radio said.
Attending the meeting were Syrian Foreign Minister Abdel Halim Khaddam, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Velayati and Libyan Justice Minister Mohammed Belkasem Al Zawi.
Syria and Libya are two of Iran’s strongest supporters in the border war with Iraq.
The broadcast did not elaborate on the meeting, but political sources said discussions covered the Iran-Iraq war and the Arab-Israeli conflict.
