The Vice President of the Republic, Abdel Halim Khaddam, received Masoud Barzani, the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, to discuss the situation in the region and the suffering of the Iraqi people. The meeting also addressed the regional situation and the imposed siege on the Iraqi people. Abdullah Al-Ahmar welcomed Barzani and his accompanying delegation, which included Mohsen Dizh Bey, Azad Barwari, Hoshyar Ribari, and Masroor Massoud Barzani, all members of the party’s political bureau. The meeting focused on fostering cooperation between the two parties, discussing the regional situation, particularly the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, the siege on Iraq, and the suffering endured by the Iraqi people. Common concerns were also addressed, emphasizing the unity of the Arab-Kurdish brothers, the territorial integrity of Iraq, non-interference in Iraq’s internal affairs, and the Iraqi people’s right to self-determination. The importance of lifting the siege on Iraq was highlighted, and the role of Arab parties, forces, and stakeholders in alleviating the suffering of our Iraqi brothers.
