Abdel Halim Khaddam, the former Vice President of Syria, stated that he supports a military strike against the current Syrian regime to save the Syrian people.

In an exclusive statement to the program “Al-Hayat Al-Youm” on Al-Hayat satellite channel on Tuesday evening, Khaddam mentioned that he has been calling for a military strike against Bashar al-Assad’s forces since the beginning of the crisis. However, at that time, the opposition rejected foreign intervention. He noted that the current situation necessitates such a military strike.

Regarding the Russian position, which some see as a change, Khaddam believes that Russia has decided to withdraw from the conflict, even though it still sympathizes with the regime. He pointed out that the Russian withdrawal came as a result of an understanding of the true international situation. He affirmed that a military strike against the regime has become an inevitable reality after recent developments.
