The Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Syria, Suleiman Al-Murjan, discussed regional issues, particularly the situation in Iraq, with Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam in Damascus.

Al-Murjan told KUNA after the meeting that their views on the situation in Iraq were aligned, with both emphasizing the need for stability in the country and an end to the ongoing security chaos that harms both the Iraqi people and the region.

He added that the discussions also touched on the strong brotherly relations between Kuwait and Syria, noting that the Syrian Vice President recalled the deep-rooted and longstanding ties between the two brotherly countries.

Al-Murjan mentioned that the Vice President expressed his desire to further develop these relations across various fields, benefiting the two brotherly peoples and the Arab nation as a whole. Khaddam also conveyed his greetings to the Prime Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
