Khaddam receives the Secretary-General of the National Front for Iraqi Tribes

The Secretary-General of the National Front for the Tribes of Iraq, Hassan Zaidan Khalaf Al-Luheibi, who is currently visiting Damascus at the head of a tribal delegation, said that the purpose of his visit is “to obtain media and political support for the Front to achieve its goals in liberating Iraq and rebuilding its infrastructure and to play a role in the arena to achieve security and stability.”

He added that he met with Syrian Vice President Abdul-Halim Khaddam and described the meeting as “positive,” discussing the situation in Iraq and also “Iranian interference in southern Iraq,” noting that Khaddam promised that Syria would play a role in the Iranian issue and that it is committed to its supportive stance toward Iraq and its people.
