Decree No. 690 issued by President Hafez al-Assad, President of the Republic, on the eleventh of March 1984, appointing Abdel Halim Khaddam as Vice President of the Republic.

Text of the Decree:

Decree No. 690

President of the Republic

Based on the provisions of the Constitution

It is decreed as follows:

Article 1- Mr. Abdel Halim Khaddam is appointed as Vice President of the Republic.

Article 2- This decree shall be published and communicated to whom it may concern.
