Former Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam

launched a violent attack on the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, warning against its political maneuvers during the upcoming negotiations and the risk of toppling it without toppling his regime. He also expected that the new Syrian army that will be created after Assad’s departure from power will enter Lebanon   to “root out” Hezbollah,  warning Arab countries against Iran’s influence reaching it.

Khaddam said, in a video recording lasting more than 22 minutes ,

shown by his supporters at dawn yesterday, “A few days ago, an agreement was made between America and Russia to hold a conference in Geneva for Syria and reach a negotiated solution to the bloody crisis,  Unfortunately, the two countries have not taken into account that any dialogue that is not between two parallel forces will prevail in which the strongest will prevail .

Bashar Al-Assad has all the means of killing and destruction. The Syrian people have faith in God and the determination to liberate without a balance of weapons.” He warned that “the departure of Bashar al-Assad does not mean the departure of the regime.”

He considered that “the conflict is not only between the Syrian people and Bashar al-Assad, but between the people, Bashar al-Assad and the regime established by Hafez al-Assad. The difference between father and son is the Iranian intervention,” noting that “after The assassination of (former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq  Hariri ) (in February 2005)

was no way for Bashar to protect himself and his regime except to join the arms of Iran, which gave him Hezbollah to use it at any time and place

He added that the party “did not appreciate the seriousness of what it Did to enter Syrian territory and kill Syrians”, and that “this matter will return to it
