Abdelhalim Khaddam, former Vice President of Syria, stated that the U.S. decision to support the Syrian opposition with weapons is a political message to Russia, Iran, and the Syrian regime.
Khaddam added in a statement to the Jordanian electronic newspaper “Al-Moqar” published this Friday: “As Syrians, we are awaiting the results of the American decision, which we consider a qualitative leap. However, the crucial point remains the manner in which the weapons will be delivered, whether through Turkey, Jordan, or by air.”
The United States had announced that they were convinced that the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had used chemical weapons multiple times, including small-scale use of “sarin” gas, declaring that they had decided to act by increasing their support to the Syrian opposition with weapons.
