In my address to you, I will be frank and courageous in presenting the facts because what concerns me is the fear of Syria’s fall and the disintegration of its national and demographic unity. The alliance between Iran, Russia, and the tyrant Bashar al-Assad aims to change the region’s structure, starting with altering the structure of Syria.
In reality, after the fall of the state of national independence on March 30, 1949, and the multiple coups, the Syrian people were not allowed to establish a democratic political system because military regimes prevented it. This situation instilled fear and terror among citizens, hindering them from taking action to save the country.
In January 2011, the wave of change began in Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia. In mid-March of that year, it reached Syria from Hauran and spread throughout the country. Many believed that the regime would fall, but the Iranian and Russian intervention provided the tyrant Bashar al-Assad with all military, political, and economic capabilities. Meanwhile, the Syrians did not have the weapons to confront the criminal regime’s killing machine. They resisted courageously and started receiving some aid that they used to repel aggression, but it was not sufficient to overthrow the regime. This situation persists, and at that stage, due to the nature of the aggression, some extremist groups emerged, with their creation attributed to the crimes of the regime. Recently, the U.S. Secretary of State stated that Bashar al-Assad has no place in a political solution because he is not part of the solution but part of the problem, and his crimes have produced extremism in Syria.
It is noteworthy that major Western countries, led by the United States, have limited themselves to condemning the aggression and providing some humanitarian aid, while Russia and Iran have supplied various types of weapons.
The United States and other countries call for a political solution, and a presidential statement from the Security Council supports de Mistura’s initiative, which calls for the formation of four committees to agree on certain issues. These committees include representatives from the regime and the opposition. Therefore, this project will face a significant problem, as the Syrian people, after four years of killing, destruction, and displacement, cannot participate because it does not include the removal of the tyrant Bashar al-Assad or the prosecution of the killers. Meanwhile, the regime’s violence intensifies under the direction of Iran to force Syrians to accept Bashar al-Assad and his regime.
In this context, I would like to address the Arab stance. Undoubtedly, Arab countries, especially in the Arab Levant, sympathize with the Syrian people and have provided various military and financial aid. In this atmosphere, Iran pushed the Houthis to stage a coup in Yemen on the border of Saudi Arabia, prompting Saudi Arabia to take measures to protect its security and rescue Yemen.
Citizens,
Syria is in great danger, threatened with collapse, as some countries begin to talk about minorities in Syria and the necessity of protecting them. Some suggest the establishment of cantons for minorities. This means the destruction of Syria as a nation and people, pushing Syrians to fight among themselves. I appeal to all Syrians, regardless of their religious, sectarian, or national components, to realize the danger of this situation in every location and region.
It is noteworthy that ISIS, through its use of killing and violence against Syrians of different backgrounds, poses a serious threat to security, stability, and the unity of citizens.
Brothers,
Unite and be one hand; your unity is your strength. I urge each one of you to set aside personal and partisan ambitions and avoid getting involved in side conflicts.
Finally, warm greetings to you all, and victory to our people.
