Syria and the Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party renewed today their opposition to all threats against Iraq and any military action against it

This came during a meeting between Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam and the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani, and his accompanying delegation. A Syrian official source said that the conversation revolved around the threats directed against Iraq, and the views were agreed on the necessity of lifting the siege on the Iraqi people, alleviating their suffering, and rejecting any military action against them.

He added that the conversation also revolved around the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and its repercussions on the situation in the Middle East region.

The meeting with Khaddam Barzani comes at a time when American/British threats to strike Iraq are increasing.
