Khaddam met with Moawad and Hobeika and received letters from Asiran and Alkhalil

Yesterday, the Vice President of Syria, Mr. Abdul Halim Khaddam, received Deputy Rene Moawad, and discussed with him for an hour and a half the presidential elections and developments in the Lebanese arena. After the meeting, Moawad announced that Khaddam had confirmed to him that “the elections will take place on schedule.”

Then, Khaddam met with the head of the “Executive Body of the Lebanese Forces in Zahle and the Bekaa,” Mr. Eli Hobeika, for an hour, and then met with the deputies Jamil Kebbi, Zaki Mazboudi, and Talal Al-Murabi, and then with Dr. Samir Sbagh, the head of the Nasserite Unity Gathering.

On another note, Khaddam met yesterday with Dr. Amin Al-Khalil, who delivered a message from his father, Deputy Kazem Al-Khalil. He also received another message from President Adel Assiran, delivered to him by his son Ali Assiran, related to developments in the Lebanese arena and the presidential elections.

On the other hand, the head of the “Amal” movement, lawyer Nabih Berri, received yesterday in Damascus the candidate, Deputy Rene Moawad, and they discussed the upcoming presidential elections. Berri also met with a delegation from the Lebanese community in Ghana and Guinea.

Also, Princess Khawla Arslan arrived in Damascus yesterday, accompanied by her son, Prince Talal, to meet with Khaddam.
