President Sadat conferred with Syrian Foreign Minister Mr. Halim Khaddam in Cairo, Egypt, on Saturday . He delivered a special message from President Assad but its contents were not disclosed.
Mr. Khaddam had met Foreign Minister Ismael Fahmi and Mahmoud Riad, Secretary General of the 18-nation Arab League, on the previous day. They discussed the Arab Summit Conference in Algiers later this month.
There has been considerable diplomatic activity leading up to the conference where the main business will be the recent Middle East conflict. Envoys from Morocco and Ethiopia have recently visited Cairo, and Egyptian special envoy, Dr. Mohammed Al-Zayyat, has been touring the Middle East.
