Sheikha Fatima receives the wife of Syrian Vice President Najat Markabi Khaddam

The wife of His Highness, the President of the State, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, received this evening at the Al Bahr Palace the wife of Mr. Abdul Halim Khaddam, Vice President of Syria, who is currently visiting the country.

During the meeting, they reviewed the role and activities of Arab women in serving communities and their development. The wife of the Vice President of Syria praised the leading role played by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in enhancing the progress of women in the United Arab Emirates in particular, and the Arab world in general. She also acknowledged Her Highness’s support for humanitarian work, earning her great appreciation from various international organizations.

The wife of the Vice President of Syria also commended the signs of development and progress witnessed by the United Arab Emirates in various economic, commercial, urban, and agricultural fields under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the President of the State, may he rest in peace.

On her part, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak highlighted the positive results of the Women and Education Forum held in Damascus earlier this month and the efforts made to ensure the success of this significant women’s gathering.

The meeting was attended by Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed, the wife of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sheikha Aisha bint Suhail, Mrs. Noura Al-Suwaidi, Director of the Women’s Union, and several wives of senior officials in the country.
