The General Commission of the Syrian National Social Movement has announced its joining of the National Salvation Front, which is headed by Abdel Halim Khaddam and Ali Al-Bayanouni, Secretary General of the Muslim Brotherhood. This decision was made following a meeting attended by Wissam Fayyad, the acting leader of the movement, and Salah Ayyash, a member of the General Secretariat.

The Commission emphasized that their decision to join the National Salvation Front stems from their belief in the importance of combining national capabilities and working towards the betterment of Syria. They noted that the Salvation Front shares their program, which prioritizes the interests of Syria above all else.

It is worth mentioning that members of the Syrian National Social Movement defected from the Syrian Social Nationalist Party last May. They characterized the party as criminal and tyrannical, claiming that it no longer represents the beliefs of social nationalists and operates beyond their control.

The movement advocates for the overthrow of the current regime, the dissolution of the People’s Assembly, the establishment of a new constitution for the country, the enactment of party laws, and the formation of a national government within a civil state.
