The Syrian Vice President offers condolences on the death of Sheikh Zayed

On November 4, Damascus / WAM / Mr. Abdul-Halim Khaddam, Vice President of the Syrian Arab Republic, visited the headquarters of the UAE Embassy in Damascus this evening to offer condolences on the death of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

He was received by His Excellency Ali Saif bin Sultan Al Owais, the UAE Ambassador to Syria, and embassy members.

In his condolences, the Syrian Vice President stated that the Arab nation lost, with the death of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, one of its historical leaders who worked for more than four decades for his nation and its dignity. He mentioned that Sheikh Zayed was one of the advocates and workers for achieving Arab solidarity, keen on the progress and advancement of the Arab world.

He added, “I have known him for more than three decades. He was a brother and a friend who left the warmest impression on me. What I admired most about him was his simplicity, the soundness of his mind, and his wisdom in dealing with issues and people. May Allah bless him with His mercy and admit him to His spacious paradise.”
