SYRIAN DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER KHADDAM ON FOUR-DAY VISIT TO BAGHDAD

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria,  Abdel Halim Khaddam, arrived in Baghdad on Friday(October 20), to start a four-day official visit. After the airport reception,

khaddam drove into the city and, shortly afterwards, was received by President Ahmad Hassan Al-Bakr to whom he delivered a message from Syrian President Hafez Assad. During his stay he is holding talks on subjects of common interest to Iraq and Syria, and the future of Arab Unity.

The Vice-Chairman of Iraq’s Revolutionary Command Council  Saddam Husein … on Monday evening (23 October) welcomed visiting Syrian Deputy Prime Minister,  Abdel Halim Khaddam, to the National Council Bureau for a round of talks on matters of mutual interest, and in particular, matters affecting Arab countries.

Khaddam has been on a four-day official visit to Iraq. Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sd. Murtadha Saeed Abdul Baqi, was also present during Monday’s talks.
