Former Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam, in an interview with Radio Sawa, expressed doubt regarding the feasibility of establishing a secure buffer zone along the Turkish-Syrian border.
He justified his skepticism by stating, “A buffer zone requires a capable entity to ensure its protection. Is Turkey prepared to engage in a solo military confrontation with the regime? I believe Turkey is willing to take military action, but under the auspices of an international alliance.”
